Was there ever a time when you believed that you’re okay because you already have that something you really wanted, only to realize that you’re not absolutely okay because what you wanted did not exactly turn out as you expected it would? I mean, you definitely know that- Fact of Life cliche- you don’t always get exactly what you want, but still, you drive yourself crazy getting what you want but once you have it, you find it quite difficult to deal with and at times, your too proud to let it go even when the need to arises… Denial. You place yourself in perpetual denial that you’re happy, you’re okay, but deep inside your bleeding, choking yourself to death.
It’s human nature to keep on wanting and consequently needing to conquer all odds to get what you want, and on occassions, even hurt the people you cherish and love. But whether it’s human weakness or strength, it really depends on the the goal that you have- may it be for knowledge, fame, fortune, a simple career, passion, love, or lust, we could not fully grasp the gravity of what we want, why we want it, and how to live with it… or better yet, how to deal with ourselves. Life is complex, and people are complex… existence is simply an intricate interweaving of individuals and their subjective judgement, understanding, motive, and logic.
No man is an island; no man can exist alone.
Life is an unrelenting play of cause and effect.
Equal exchange- you take something but something is taken back in return.
We are constantly living in paradox, and a lot of us are well aware of it but has anyone ever gotten over that? I would like to meet at least one person that has, only I’m wishing that he would not be cynical nor unfeeling. I’m hoping that he’d still be human.

Work assignment aside, I like this post’s pensiveness and honesty.
We may be all on our way of accepting that life is, after all, a cycle of paradoxes as we encounter one predicament after another. And I, too wish, that along the way, we would all still be human enough to appreciate and laugh at life’s strange humor.
And now, moving on to the ‘dreaded’ (cue in musical scoring) part of the commentary, I think that this line on the first paragraph, “your too proud to let it go even when the need to”, meant to go as “you’re (you are) too proud…”.

You really put my mind to the test with this post, Jett. Not only have you made me rethink my life, you also posed questions that should only be used in scripts for movies, like The Matrix for example. :p hehehe. I mean, really. My mind is reeling from all the questions and possibilities you’ve suggested in this post.
Like Riz, I appreciate the honesty of this post. And I also love the quality of writing. As for the comment stuff, I think “you find it quite difficult to deal with and” – should have read “you find it quite difficult to deal with IT and”. You used “it” man gud in the previous sentence.
Keep it up, Jett. You always make me think.
hahai. more work for me. hahahah! joke. muah!

The purpose of our existence in this world of complexity, most often than not, is beyond our comprehension
It’s quite an interesting post.
CRITICISM CHUVA:
I think it would be better to split this long sentence into two or three short sentences, perhaps. Please take note also of the word “your”.
“I mean, you definitely know that- Fact of Life cliche- you don’t always get exactly what you want, but still, you drive yourself crazy getting what you want but once you have it, you find it quite difficult to deal with and at times, your too proud to let it go even when the need to arises… Denial.”

Ei jet! I really like how you could put into writing your deepest thoughts.
Indeed, the complexities around us can drive us crazy but those are the very things that make life rather interesting. For how long we can continue to think like this, i don’t know. Although, I hope it can stay with us throughout our lifetimes.
– For the “saway” that we have to point out, here goes:
The sentences are sometimes too long that it becomes a run-on. Maybe you could split it into two and just connect the ideas using words like however, therefore, etc..

You’re definitely right, Jette. Life is indeed complex. And, this post is wonderful.
And for the critiism I really loathe,
“…odds to get what you want, and on occassions, even…”
You misspelled the word “occasions”.
Hehehe..

A pinch of denial goes a long way. Well it does for me anyway haha. It softens the blow when the truth sinks in. This post is very insightful. Kudos!
Aargh, the dreaded mandatory comments. I only have one so don’t worry.
“we could not fully grasp the gravity of what we want, why we want it, and how to live with it… or better yet, how to deal with ourselves.”
- i think you should change “could not” to “cannot”. But this is just my opinion.
More power to your insightful blogs!
